Fairy fort in Ballinvoher, Fermoy By., County Cork, Ireland: a circular earthwork, 38m by 36m, with a 2.5m high outer bank, shallow outer ditch, a 6m eastern entrance braced by three stones, and a slightly raised inner edge that helped level the floor. It stands in pasture on a north-facing slope, partly shaped by fields and cattle gaps, yet its round plan and strengthened entrance still read as a made place rather than a heap of soil. People may have lived, stored, gathered or kept animals there before the land was divided into modern fields.

In pasture, on N-facing slope. Circular area (38m N-S; 36m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.95m; ext. H 2.5m); external fosse (D 0.25m). Cattle gap in bank to SSW and N; entrance (Wth 6m) to E, revetted on N side by three stones. Remains of stone facing on outer face of bank to N of entrance. Fosse skirted by field boundary SSE->NW. Interior raised slightly (H 0.5m) around edge on N side thereby levelling interior and creating an inner fosse. Small circular feature hachured in interior on 1842 OS 6-inch map.
