That is the Fairy fort in Ballinruane, County Limerick: a 14m earthen ring with a narrow outer ditch, a 2.8m east-southeast gap, whitethorns along the edge and a mature sycamore standing in the middle. It sits on a south-facing pasture slope, small enough to walk around in a minute yet old enough to belong before such places had names. The gap does not read like damage; it reads like an invitation, as if the fort still expects someone to enter, look up at the sycamore and leave before dark.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Circular area (diam. 14m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.75m) with external fosse (D 0.3m; Wth 0.8m). Gap (Wth 2.8m) in bank at ESE.
