Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballinphort is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ballinphort, County Westmeath, Ireland. It sits on a low ridge in pasture-land, offering very wide views to the north while views in other directions are restricted. The slightly raised circular area measures approximately twenty-six metres in diameter along a north-east to south-west axis and is enclosed by a poorly preserved earthen bank that is almost completely levelled from the south to the west. A shallow fosse appears at the east and south-west, accompanied by a poorly preserved outer counterscarp bank at the east-northeast and an entrance gap at the east, while a field fence depicted on the 1837 edition Ordnance Survey six-inch map intersects the site at the south.
Situated on a low ridge in pasture-land, with very wide views to the N and restricted views in other directions. Ringfort (WM007-042----) 210m to NNW. Ringfort (WM007-042---) 140m to NNE. Ringfort (WM007-068---) 160m to SW. A slightly raised circular-shaped area (approx. diam. 26m NE-SW) enclosed by a poorly preserved earthen bank, almost completely levelled from S-W, a shallow fosse at E & SW, and a poorly preserved outer counterscarp bank at ENE. There is an entrance gap at E. The interior slopes from SW-NE. A field fence running NE-SW, depicted on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map intersects the monument at S.
