What is recorded here

Cullyvore and Ballindagny still hold a broad earthen ring above a fast stream, its shallow trench and low banks marking a place where people once drew a clear line between inside and out. The western edge has vanished beneath a modern field boundary, erasing the entrance and reminding us that living land keeps taking back what it wants. Yet the circle remains large enough to walk, large enough to remember, and high enough to watch the water run below.

On a NE-facing slope in pasture, c. 170m above a small but fast-flowing stream. A raised circular area (diam. 29.6m) enclosed by the outline of a levelled wide bank of earth and stone (Wth c. 7.6m), a wide, shallow, intervening fosse (Wth 5.4m; D 0.5m) and a wide low outer bank (Wth 6.55m; H 0.1m). From WSW–W–N the external face of the outer bank has been destroyed due to the construction of a modern NE–SW field boundary. The original entrance is not recognisable. Compiled by: Patrick F.
