Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballahantouragh (trughanacmy By., Kilmurry Ed)

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy forts are a common feature across Ireland and are usually abandoned ringforts or earthworks misread as magical. In Ballahantouragh the earth remains the main fact, not a palace for unseen creatures. People may have lived there, buried there or simply stopped using it when the land changed. The fairy label is a story carried by locals, not a proven claim about the site itself.
