Fairy forts are human ringforts misnamed because people stopped living in them and the dark took the credit. This one keeps its shape on a Galway ridge: two banks, a ditch between, a possible gap at east-southeast, and a field boundary walking across the outer bank like a later thought imposed on an older one. Its size suits a small household, a seasonal camp, a refuge or a boundary marker more than a palace. The fairy label is not dismissal; it is admission that the purpose left human memory while the earth kept its shape.

On N-facing slope of a ridge in grassland. Well-preserved subcircular rath (N-S 43m, E-W 40m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank survives from NE through E to S; elsewhere a scarp forms the enclosing element. A field boundary overlies the outer bank from NE through S to NW. Possible entrance at ESE.
