What is recorded here

Half a metre of earthen ridge still marks a twenty-metre circle on the south-facing slope above the River Deel. A field drain now cuts through the middle, and brambles bury the southern half, yet the fort remains visible enough to tempt imagination. People may have lived there before boundaries were drawn, or the land may have shaped itself into a circle and human memory followed. Either way, Ahaveheen keeps its small ring beside the water, waiting for attention.

In pasture, on S-facing slope overlooking River Deel. Circular area (diam. c. 20m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.5m) with external fosse (D 0.25m; Wth 1.4m). Site bisected by E-W running field boundary and drain. Both interior and enclosing element are completely covered by densely overgrown on S side of this boundary. Ringfort c. 80m to N (LI045-053---).
