What is recorded here

Magic fort in Aglish, County Kerry. Wold ring, about thirty-five metres across, marked on the 1846 survey but halved by the 1894 survey. The earth has not disappeared; it has gone underground, perhaps through the hidden passage still recorded beside it. What men built, the land completed.

In pasture, on a NE-facing slope. The rath is not visible at ground level. It is indicated on the 1846 OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m). On the 1894 OS 6-inch map, only the SW half of it survives, abutting a NW-SE field boundary. There is a possible Man-made underground passage (KE058-025001-) in this rath.
