What is recorded here

Aghamore holds a broken ring where human hands first shaped the hill. The fairy label comes later, born of wonder and forgetting. What is missing has not stopped the place existing. The earth still marks the shape, even when memory no longer does.

Located towards the top of a SW-facing slope overlooking the NW-SE Kilmainham stream that is c. 200m to the SW. This is a subcircular area (dims 40m E-W; 34m N-S) that slopes down to the SW (H 2m). It is defined by an earthen bank and hedge (at N: Wth of base 4m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.5m; at E: Wth of base 5.3m; int. H 1m; ext. H 1.4m) N-E-S, but the perimeter is reduced to a grass-covered scarp (at SSW: Wth 1.5m; H 0.6m) elsewhere. There is no visible fosse but the original entrance (Wth of base 1.7m) is at E.
