Gateway, extant 1908, on a symmetrical plan comprising pair of rosette-detailed cast-iron "bird cage" piers on moulded cushion courses on plinths having "Cyma Recta"- or "Cyma Reversa"-detailed cornices below pyramidal capping supporting "Fleur-de-Lys"-detailed cast-iron double gates with rendered outer piers on chamfered plinths having pyramidal capping supporting "Fleur-de-Lys"-detailed cast-iron serpentine railings. Road fronted at entrance to grounds of Fairholme.
A gateway making a pleasing visual statement in Abbey Road at a long obsolete entrance on to the grounds of the Fairholme estate.
