Excavation in County Monaghan revealed scattered pits on a drumlin slope before road construction, possibly belonging to the rath nearby. The holes refused pattern, like marbles spilled from a broken game. They may have marked a kitchen, a boundary or a forgotten ritual. The road covered them again, but the asymmetry remains: a place known only through what it withheld.

Discovered prior to road construction (Excavation Licence No. 03E0891). Located on the S slope of a low drumlin. A number of pits forming no coherent pattern were excavated.
