Excavation: On the W side of the Derrylackey River valley. A sub-oval feature 2m x 2m held dark-brown sandy clay, charcoal and stones beyond the dug limit. Its edges showed oxidised subsoil beside a small black charcoal deposit. The feature sat at the very edge of the works, so it was better left untouched than opened further.

On the W side of the Derrylackey River valley. Revealed during monitoring of proposed permanent spoil storage as part of the N9/N10 Kilcullen to Waterford road scheme (Licence no. 07E1033). A sub-oval feature (2m x 2m) filled with dark-brown sandy clay with frequent inclusions of charcoal and sub-angular stones extending outside the limits of the investigation. The subsoil was oxidised against its NE and S edges. A black charcoal-rich deposit (0.7m x 0.4m) was located beside the SE area of oxidisation. As the feature was located at the very limit of the site it was deemed preferential to preserve it in situ rather than excavate it.
