Enclosure, large enclosure

What is recorded here

On a N-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 77.8m N-S; 71.2m E-W) defined by an earthen bank with some bushes and partly obscured by spoil (Wth 6.3-8.8m; int. H 1-1.2m; ext. H 1.25-1.75m), with traces of a rounded fosse (Wth of top 7m; Wth of base 1.6m; D 0.7m) SSE-WSW. The entrance (Wth 3.6m) is at NE, and the perimeter is overlain by a NNE-SSW field wall and hedge at W, beyond which the perimeter is defined by a scarp (H 1m). Walls from the field system (RO039-065002-) overlay the interior (CUCAP: BDK 76), but these have been removed as has an outer bank NW-E-SE. See the attached aerial view taken from the SSW.
