Enclosure

Situated on a prominent rise, in pasture, with good views in all directions. Monument described in 1971 and 1976 as a D-shaped area (dims. 70m NW-SE; 70m NE-SW) with straight side (L 73m) at NW enclosed by a low earth and stone bank, a wide and deep intervening fosse and an outer bank that is best preserved from SE-S with external stone facing visible. It is incorporated into a field boundary from S-W-N-SE. The original entrance is not visible. The interior rises gently from the perimeter towards the centre and is uneven with some rock outcrop visible. A rectangular house site (WM024-094001-) is visible in the NE quadrant. The remains of a circular-shaped enclosure (approx. diam. 22m) defined by a low earth and stone bank is visible in the centre of the monument.
