What is recorded here

Geophysical survey (Licence no. 12R010) undertaken by the Discovery Programme as part of the ‘Late Iron Age and “Roman” Ireland’ project identified archaeological activity towards the base of Popeshall hill, c. 200m SW of a ring ditch cemetery. The large circular enclosure (40m diam.) encloses a number of pit-like features and a possible structure (DU005-175002-). The survey results just inside the ditch (2m in width) suggest the former presence of a bank (Dowling 2013, 11). Compiled by: Christine Baker Date of upload: 2 February 2015
