What is recorded here

Indicated on the 1st (1839) ed. OS 6-inch map as a large circular enclosure (overall diam. c. 80m) and on the 1899-1902 revision of this map it is depicted with the NE quadrant. Subsequently the enclosure was levelled and it is visible on aerial photographs (ASIAP (414) 15-17, 6 Marc 2004) and on satellite imagery as a cropmark, the clearest being a Google Earth image taken on 25 April 2021 which shows an enclosure (int. diam. c. 30m; overall diam. c. 70m) defined by a possible inner fosse, a bank, fosse and outer bank. Also on this image there appears to be an entrance (Wth c. 11m) through the outer bank and fosse in the ESE sector, facing southeastward. See attached: KK024-085----_01 satellite imagery (Google Earth, imagery date on 25 April 2021) Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 11 October 2021
