Enclosure in Skahies

Reported to the Archaeological Survey of Ireland as extant banks. There is no visible surface trace of an earthwork at this location. Remains of two linear field boundaries (long-axis NW-SE) located adjacent to NE and SW of a backfilled quarry (recorded as KE048-193----). Linear feature to SW is a low, levelled bank and that to NE is a low scarp. These may have enclosed the quarry from the surrounding field, for safety or be part of an earlier field system. Some of these correspond to boundaries seen on earlier mapping, however they could also form an enclosure as this is the only distinct vantage point that overlooks motte, possible (KE048-190----) and could therefore be part of a larger archaeological landscape.
