What is recorded here

Marked only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on the lower W-facing slope of a drumlin c. 50m from the NE shore of Shanballybaun Lough, an oval lake (max. dims c. 550m NE-SW; c. 350m NW-SE) which has one crannog (RO007-041----). Circular overgrown area (diam. 19-20m) in mixed woodland defined by a low scarp (H 0.2-0.6m) N-W. There is no visible fosse or entrance. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
