Enclosure in Rossmackowen Commons — Report the wrong picture

Rossmackowen Commons preserves a circular stone enclosure on the lower slopes of Hungry Hill, where builders raised the south edge and cut the north edge to create a level interior despite the hillside tilt. The wall stands barely thirty-five centimetres high beneath sods and rubble, yet its deliberate shape remains visible in rough peaty pasture. A fulacht fia lies fifty metres to the northwest, suggesting the enclosure may have served feast preparation or communal gathering rather than ordinary domestic life.

In rough peaty hill pasture with occasional surface boulders, on the lower S-facing slopes of Hungry Hill. A circular area (9.4m E-W; 8.8m N-S) is defined by the jumbled remains of a partially sod-covered stone wall (T 1m; H 0.35m). The level interior is raised (H 1.3m) at S and cut into the upslope (D 0.7m) at N to compensate for the hillslope. Rubble is scattered along the perimeter, especially downslope to the S. Small mounds of stones to the W of the enclosure appear to be clearance cairns. A fulacht fia (CO116-034001-) lies c. 50m to the NW.
