Enclosure in Robeenard, County Mayo

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

What is recorded here

In a large pasture field, on slightly elevated level ground with a gently undulating fall of ground to NE towards a drain/stream. A subcircular enclosure (diam. approx. 20-25m), within a field system (MA111-045003), is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs (SMR file: CUCAP AYR 74 & 75). It was levelled during land reclamation and there is no visible trace at ground level.
