What is recorded here
This enclosure is situated in improved pasture on a SE-facing slope with dramatic views of the Sugarloaf Mountain to the S. It was shown on the 1843 OS 6-inch map as a large circular enclosure (diam. c. 60m) with an internal division. By 1975 this site had been removed (Healy 1975, 1-19) but a possible section of the enclosing bank may be incorporated into a field boundary which skirts the northern boundary of the site. This appears as a kink in the field boundary. Archaeological test excavation took place on this site in 2002 and a backfillled fosse was revealed (Byrne 2004, 181).
