Enclosure in Ovenstown

Ovenstown holds a forty-three-foot clay ring beside the Toberakin well, visible on maps since 1839 and still unburied in 1948. The enclosure stands raised against the Kilkenny fields, old enough to predate every road and young enough to be forgotten by every town. People may have circled it during feast days or buried what they refused to lose. The well waits twenty metres south, ready to give back water for any promise made inside the ring.
