What is recorded here

No king, no castle, no hidden hall. A round pen, fifty metres across, holds grass and rain on the south shore of Bateman's Lough. Its low bank matches the ordinary fences around it, as if a field had simply drawn a circle and stopped. That much is known; the rest belongs to imagination.

In pasture, lowlying on S shore Bateman's Lough. Roughly circular area (diam. c. 50m) enclosed by earthen bank (H 0.7m) exactly similer to surrounding field fences. The location suggests this is not remains of a ringfort. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
