What is recorded here

Enclosure in Lismacteige, a possible oval ring of mound walls near the SW foot of Cappanawalla Hill in County Clare, may have been a place where people gathered to mark the valley, river and sky. It is the kind of spot where life would have felt large: firelight, music, argument, wedding or mourning, all under an open sky. Even if no name has reached us, the shape suggests people wanted to be together there, and the hill still holds that intention.
Near the SW foot of Cappanawalla Hill, with views from S-NW over the valley floor and Rathborney River. A possible oval enclosure (c. 63m NE-SW; c. 55m NW-SE) defined by mound walls N-SW visible on OS Aerial Premium orthophotographs (2012-2018) and noted by Ros Ó Maoldúin.
