Knocknagee held a large oval enclosure measuring seventy by fifty metres when surveyed in 1837, yet no trace remains visible today. The lost boundary may have marked a ringfort where people lived, worked and resisted the changing landscape. Forgetting has erased the stones, but the shape still occupies the field like a shadow waiting to be remembered.
Marked on the 1837 OS 6-inch map as a large oval enclosure (max dims c. 70m N-S x c. 50m E-W). No visible surface traces. Probably a ringfort site.
