Knockavoarheen holds a broken twenty-metre ring on an SE-facing Clare slope, its bank and fosse surviving only from SE to SW while ploughing or greed chopped the rest into jagged edge and two northern spoil heaps. The loss is visible, not abstract: a complete circle reduced to a crescent and scars. Yet the remaining curve still faces the wide NE-SW view, and a rath waits one hundred and forty-five metres to the WSW. Whatever enclosed this place, people kept taking it apart.

Near the top of an SE-facing slope in pasture, with wide views from NE to SW. This heavily damaged subcircular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) is defined by a fosse (Wth c. 1m at base; D 0.3m) and outer bank (Wth 2.6m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.8m), which survive only from SE to SW. Elsewhere the enclosing elements have been truncated, resulting in a jagged steep edge (max. H 1m) at the E, and two spoil heaps at the N. This may be a much-damaged ring-barrow.
