What is recorded here
In level ‘improved’ pasture. Visible on Bing aerial imagery (https://www.bing.com/maps/?cp=53.382558%7E-8.167236&lvl=17.9&style=a) as a circular area (diam. c. 30m) defined by the soilmark of a fosse (Wth 2-4m). Earlier Google Earth aerial imagery (18-4-2015) shows an overgrown bank curving NW-N-NE along the N limits of the site – suggesting a later field boundary incorporating section of a pre-existing enclosure, or curving to avoid one. Slightly later Google Earth aerial imagery (15-3-2016) shows fresh-looking clearance with the feature and associated field boundaries levelled.
