Enclosure in Killaha East — Report the wrong picture

In rough pasture, on a N-facing slope overlooking Kenmare Bay. The faint trace of a circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) is visible on an aerial photograph (ACAP, V 178/ 55-56), taken in 1955, with a field boundary respecting it SSW-N. It is not visible at ground level. An arc formed by a wall (H c. 1m; L c. 20m) is evident W-NW consisting of large basal stones with smaller stones on top. The ground level to the W of the wall has been raised to the height of the wall in recent times through the dumping of topsoil. A house has been constructed to the E of the wall and the surrounding area is now the yard of the house. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
