Situated on a low rise of ground in gently undulating countryside. An aerial photograph taken in 1973 (GSIAP, S 412/3) shows the outline of a semicircular enclosure intersected by a field fence as depicted on the 1st ed. OS 6-inch map. Not visible at ground level.
