Enclosure in Grange (roscommon By., Aughrim East Ed) is an enclosure in Grange (roscommon By., Aughrim East Ed), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a rectangular overgrown area measuring 43m north-south and 23m east-west at the crest of a SE-facing slope on a low NE-SW ridge. The structure attaches to the west of rath (RO011-111001-), with an earthen bank forming its western and northern boundaries, a scarp elsewhere, and an outer fosse at the west. A NNW-SSE field bank bisects the interior space.
At the crest of the SE-facing slope of a low NE-SW ridge, attached to the W of rath (RO011-111001-). Rectangular overgrown area (dims. 43m N-S; 23m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4.25-5.7m; int. H 0.4-0.55m; ext. H 0.9-1m) at W and N and a scarp (H 0.9-1m) elsewhere. It has an outer fosse (Wth of base 3.2m; D 0.3-0.5m) at W, and is bisected by a NNW-SSE field bank. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
