Enclosure in Glenmore

The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Trapezoidal area (max. dims. 52m NE-SW, 33m NW-SE) enclosed by two banks with intervening fosse. Ancient entrance gaps (Wth 6.5m) at SW in both banks with causeway (Wth c. 6.5m) across fosse. Inner bank Wth 4.7m, H 0.3m internally, 2.4m externally. Outer bank Wth 2.8m, H 1.2m. No visible internal features.
