Enclosure in Erneen

In rough hill pasture, in a sheltered hollow, on a saddle between Knockboy and Knocknamanagh. A circular area (diam. 9m) defined by a partially collapsed, drystone wall (T 0.65m; H 0.7m) which protrudes above the surface of the bog (D 0.4m). The N portion of the interior is cut into the upslope to compensate for the hillslope. There is an entrance break at NE. A relict field boundary (KE103-018005-) adjoins this enclosure at W. There is a hut site (KE103-018003-) c. 3m to the N. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
