What is recorded here
Dowdenstown Great holds a ghost circle forty metres wide, buried beneath living fields. The soil remembers a ringfort even when the stones forgot their shape. Men may have circled that place before written history, turning it into a boundary for life itself.
Visible on aerial photographs (GSI N 334, 335) as the cropmark of a circular enclosure (est. max. diam. c. 40m). Possibly a ringfort site.
