Dooneen holds a missing circle beside a narrow stream, not a visible ruin but a absent shape in pastureland. The enclosure was levelled around the 1950s or 1960s, erasing its ridge-side boundary while the valley water kept flowing south. It remains a place where memory must build what the soil forgot.

Levelled enclosure surveyed in 1987 by the Castleisland District Archaeological Survey and described as follows; 'in pastureland at the foot of a ridge of high ground which rises to the W, NW and N. To the east is a stream which flows south out of a small narrow sided valley running off to NNE. The site has been levelled along with surrounding field fences.
