The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

Aerial photographs (CUCAP AYK 91-3; GSI S 278) show cropmarks of a sub-rectangular area defined by bank with external fosse (dims. c. 40m N-S; c. 32m E-W). Cropmark of internal feature visible W of centre. There is another enclosure (CW019-079----) c. 10m to the N, with another possible enclosure (CW019-080----) c. 50m N of that and a large enclosure (CW019-042----) c. 40m to the S.
