What is recorded here
On a S-facing slope in cleared and drained marshy pasture with good views to the S. Listed as ‘enclosure’ in the RMP (1996). This monument appears to have been indicated by Westropp on a copy of an 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, where he named it ‘Cahermackaleer Site’ (SMR file). On inspection in May 1999, no visible surface trace of it survived. However, the vague outline of a possible enclosure visible on Google Earth aerial imagery (dated 16/01/2011) may be it.
