What is recorded here

Carrowduff held a castle whose stone foundation still marks the ground beside Inchiquin. The structure has vanished from common memory, leaving only its name and a flat scar where walls once rose. It belonged to the turbulent castle-building age of Clare, when local power required visible strength. What remains is an absence shaped like a building, waiting for someone to imagine the rooms that disappeared.
