In pasture, overlooking Ballydonegan Bay. D-shaped area (straight side 21.7m E-W; projecting 21m to S). Interior defined by scarp (H 1m) to S and W; by low earthen bank (H 0.9m) elsewhere; slopes down gently to SW. Locally known as a "lios". Burial ground (CO127-004002-) 11m to NE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). A local fairy fort (ringfort/rath); wider significance not recorded.
