Enclosure in Acragar — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

An invisible ringfort in Acragar, County Laois, lost beneath a cut road and levelled ground. The 1910 map still draws its circle and a possible north-west berm, while trees now hide the enclosure. Whatever lived inside that vanished ring has returned to the soil, leaving only a line on paper and a hollow feeling when the place is named.

Hachured as a ringfort on 1910 ed OS 6-inch map with an extra element at the NW side, possibly a berm, indicated. Road at SW cut through site which is now levelled. No visible surface remains. Shown on ACAP (V 300 705/4) as tree-covered enclosure. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P.
