Emvanked enclosure

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Marked as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 50m) on the 1839 ed. and as a ditched enclosure (ext. diam. c. 55m) on the 1925 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. It is visible as a slightly dished grass-covered area (diam. 40m) with portion of the bank at S surviving in a road bank (C 23m). It is visible as a double ditched cropmark enclosure (int. diam. c. 35m) on aerial photographs (MM (1) 18-21), and the cropmark can be seen on the OSI series of aerial photographs (1995).
