What is recorded here

Situated at the crest of the S-facing slope of a broad E-W ridge. It is described in the 1940s as a square area (dims. c. 30m x 30m) defined by a fosse or moat (Wth c. 2m) on all sides except the N. It had a second outer fosse at the S (SMR file). It has been removed since the 1940s, and nothing is visible at ground level in pasture. (Barry 1977, 227, WX 112) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996).
