What is recorded here

On a flat, low-lying landscape. Rectangular grass-covered area (dims 56m E-W; 48m N-S) defined by an earthen bank and hedge at N (Wth 3.5m; int. H 0.5-0.7m; ext. H 1.2m) and W (Wth 4.7m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1m), with a fosse or moat at W (Wth of top 4m; Wth of base 1m; D 0.4m) and S (Wth of top 3m; Wth of base 1.2m; int. D 1.7m; ext. D 0.8m). The E side is defined by a scarp (H 0.7m) separated by a berm (Wth 3.5m) from a N-S field bank. There are modern entrances at W and at the W end of the S side.
