Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Newtown (roscommon By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the crest of a low rise as an overgrown subcircular area measuring 28.3m north-south and 24.1m east-west. A 3m entrance appears at the east-north-east, while Rath RO028-027 stands 90m west-south-west and earthwork RO028-026 stands 160m north-north-east.
At the crest of a low rise. Overgrown subcircular area (dims 28.3m N-S; 24.1m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5.4-5.7m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.1-1.7m) and a rounded fosse (Wth of top 6.8m; Wth of base 3.5m; D 0.4-0.7m). The entrance (Wth 3m) is at ENE. Rath (RO028-027----) is c. 90m to the WSW and earthwork (RO028-026----) is c. 160m to the NNE.
