Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Newtown (roscommon By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the crest of an east-facing drumlin ridge and preserves a circular tree-covered area bounded by a flat-topped bank, rounded fosse and outer bank. A nearby Rath lies about ninety metres to the east-northeast.
At the crest of the E-facing slope of an E-W drumlin ridge. Circular area planted with deciduous trees and overgrown (diam. 37.5m E-W; 36.8m N-S) defined by a flat-topped earthen bank (Wth of top 2.1-2.3m; Wth of base 5.3-6.1m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.7-1.9m) separated by a rounded fosse (Wth of top 6.8-7.4m; Wth of base 3.2m; D 1.3m) from an outer, rounded bank (Wth 4.3-4.5m; ext. H 1.4-1.6m), which is incorporated into a field bank W-N. There is no identifiable original entrance (max. ext. dim. 61.4m N-S). Rath (RO028-028----) is c. 90m to the ENE.
