Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Killiaghan AND Gort, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a gentle south-west-facing slope where a subrectangular grass-covered area measures fifty-four metres north-east to south-west and forty-six point six metres north-west to south-east. An earthen bank surrounds the interior, an outer fosse cuts into the ground, and a second outer bank follows the north, south and west edges. The entrance appears at the south-west through inner and outer banks with a causeway, while a circular hut-site sits inside the main bank at the west and another hut-site lies about one hundred and twenty metres to the south-west.
On a gentle SW-facing slope. Subrectangular grass-covered area (dims 54m NE-SW; 46.6m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4.8-5.3m; int. H 0.55-0.6m; ext. H 1.45-1.55m) and outer fosse (Wth of top 4.8-5.8m; Wth of base 1.6-2.5m; D 0.6-0.95m), with an outer bank (at SE: Wth 2.7m; ext. H 0.35m) N-S-W. The entrance through the inner (Wth 4.1m) and outer (Wth 10m) banks and causeway are at SW. There is a circular hut-site (RO045-101002-) (ext. diam. 14.5m NE-SW; 12.5m NW-SE) defined by a grass-covered earthen bank (Wth c. 3m) inside the bank at W, and the fosse is extended into a pond at N. Hut site (RO045-100----) is c 120m to the SW.
