What is recorded here
Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Derraun, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a circular grass and scrub-covered area thirty-one to thirty-one-point-five metres across on the southeast-facing slope of a low east-west drumlin ridge. An eroded earthen bank and shallow scarp define most of the perimeter, while a northeast-southwest field bank slightly truncates the southeast edge. Another rath lies approximately two hundred and ten metres to the west.
On the SE-facing slope of a low E-W drumlin ridge. Circular grass and scrub-covered area (diam. 31m N-S; 31.5m E-W) defined by an eroded earthen bank (Wth 1.5-2.5m; int. H 0.2-0.5m; ext. H 0.2-0.8m) WSW-NW and a scarp (H 0.4m at N to 1m at S) elsewhere. There is no visible fosse or entrance, and the perimeter is truncated slightly by a NE-SW field bank at SE. Rath (RO011-062001-) is c. 210m to the W.
