What is recorded here

Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Coolteige, County Roscommon, Ireland. The 1837 Ordnance Survey marked a D-shaped embanked enclosure on a gentle north-facing slope, curtailed at the west by a field bank running north-northeast to south-southwest. Two other raths sit nearby, one ten metres to the northeast and another fifty metres to the south. The earthworks no longer show at ground level in the pasture.

It is not visible at ground level in pasture. Rath (RO036-019----) is c. 10m to the NE, and rath (RO036-021----) is c. 50m to the S. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
