Embanked enclosure

Marked on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as an irregularly-shaped or sub-rectangular embanked or moated enclosure (ext. dims c. 75m E-W; c. 55m N-S). It is situated on a slight N-facing slope with the W-E Ballyedmond River c. 140m to the N. It is described in the 1940s as having slight traces of an earthen bank (SMR file). It is not visible at ground level in pasture, but it is listed as a moated site (Barry 1977, 218, WX 41).
