What is recorded here

Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Carrowreagh (castlereagh By., Kiltullagh Ed), County Roscommon, Ireland. The 1837 Ordnance Survey map marked a small circular embanked enclosure about 35 metres across at the crest of a northeast-facing slope. Reclaimed pasture now covers the site, hiding the earthworks from ground-level view.
Marked as a small circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 35m) on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated at the crest of a NE-facing slope. It is not visible at ground level in reclaimed pasture. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
