Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Carrowkeel (athlone North By., Lackan Ed), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a level area in a gently undulating landscape and measures about 38 metres across. An earthen bank surrounds a grass-covered centre, while an outer fosse has widened into a pond on the east side. Three other raths lie within 200 metres to the north, south and northwest.
On a level area in a gently undulating landscape. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 38m NE-SW; 37.3m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.4-4.3m; int. H 0.55-0.75m; ext. H 1.35m) with some bushes, and an outer fosse (at NW: Wth of top 5.3m; Wth of base 2-3m; D 1m) which has been widened into a pond ENE-SSE. There is no identifiable original entrance. The rath (RO045-072----) is c. 30m to the NW and raths (RO045-071----; RO045-074----) are c. 140m to the N and c. 200m to the S respectively.
